On May 10th, 2023, “WAE Technologies Deutschland GmbH” inaugurated their new offices at KST-Motorenversuch GmbH & Co. KG.
For this event the State Secretary, Mrs. Petra Dick-Walther from the Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture was joined by the partners of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and the Commercial Vehicle Cluster GmbH (CVC) as well as by the management of KST-Motorenversuch.
WAE Germany was founded mid of last year. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the British WAE Technologies Limited (WAE). Since 2022, WAE Germany has been part of the Australian FortescueMetals Group (FMG), the world’s fourth largest iron ore mining company based in Perth. Originating from the Williams Formula 1 racing team, the development company offers electrified solutions and has developed propulsion and energy systems for cars, scooters, motorcycles and, more recently, mining vehicles.
The former racing company electrifies mining trucks for Australia and develops hydrogen drives. For this purpose, the start-up “WAE Germany” plans to invest a seven-digit figure in its new location. The proximity of WAE Germany to KST Motorenversuch is ideal, since KST brings the appropriate expertise and test infrastructure for the development of electrification and hydrogen drives to the table. Prototypes can thus be tested efficiently on site.
